Isleham Core Product Range

CARROTS:
Carrots are grown in different regions of the UK to ensure British products are supplied for a large proportion of the year. IFP's washing and packing facility employs Wyma technology to polish the carrots and parsnips. Defects are removed using the latest optical sorting technology and all produce is size graded dependent upon the requirement of each customer. Carrots can be packed into bulk, loose flow, or pre-packed (including pillow packs) for retail customers.

PARSNIPS:
Parsnips are grown throughout East Anglia, which provides a range of micro climates to allow early and late production. Parsnips are available from the UK between mid July and late April; outside of this they are also readily available from overseas sources. They can be packed into bulk, loose flow or pre-packed. 2007/08 will see the introduction of a new variety of baby parsnip.

SWEDE:
Working closely with expert growers in the south west we are able to produce swede relatively early for the UK, starting in June and then moving to our main suppliers in Scotland. Over the last two years we have developed a process that enables us to harvest and store swede (negating the need for us to import the product) thereby supplying UK grown produce for 52 weeks of the year.

TURNIPS:
Turnips are grown for Isleham Fresh Produce by a specialist in Norfolk. They are harvested and delivered to us from June through to March. Imported material is available from April to May.

BEETROOT:
Fresh bunched UK beetroot is available between June until October. The industry then traditionally switches to stored loose product which is available until March. Bunches for this period would traditionally be brought in from Portugal or Spain. This is due to the fact that product cannot be stored with foliage on. In 2006, we successfully grew a new variety, Golden Beetroot. This will be available commercially from late Summer 2007.
