Early season parsnips are produced on the warm sandy soils in south Suffolk, whilst the later season crops are grown on heavier, cooler soils of north Norfolk. To minimise risk, all the late season parsnips are stored under black polythene and deep straw to prevent them from flowering in the Spring.
