Isleham Prepared

Isleham Fresh Produce have the capability to produce a range of cuts and pack sizes in our high care prepared roots unit. The unit itself sits inside our carrot and parsnip facility; so we have excellent access to fresh produce, coming straight from our washing line.

One element that we are particularly proud of is our traceability system, being able to identify where each pack of product was grown, when it was harvested, and when it was prepared and packed. By having such a solid system, we are able to offer true provenance. In fact, some of our customers carry in their range whole and prepared products selected from the same crop to ensure safety and continuity of quality.

We are able to produce both organic and conventional products from our high care facility, making sure that we meet the needs of consumers and customers alike.

Originally the unit opened as a peeling facility, but as we became known for the high quality of our product, we gradually began to receive orders for batoned, sliced, diced, grated and julienne products; this prompted us to invest a further £353,000 in equipment for 2007/08. We are now able to offer a broad range of prepared root vegetables that can be used as components for retail packing, food service and catering outlets and public sector contracts. We currently supply solo products, mixed products and multi products to various outlets.

We are continually seeking new business and have already identified opportunities to expand our operation without moving site or erecting a stand-alone unit; ensuring that our close link to raw material is maintained and that we are able to meet the demands of a fast growing sector in the food market.
