Training

Key to the Group's future success and development is - training.

It's a perpetual programme which effectively engenders new skill sets for highly motivated individuals within the Produce World Group.

STAFF APPRAISALS

Every employee will undergo an appraisal review at least once a year. Appraisals are an excellent way of identifying an individual's personal training and development needs. Personal development plans are actively encouraged and implemented across the group with regular one-to-one meetings for senior management. This keeps a focus on employee's targets, goals and achievements.

TRAINING PARTNERSHIPS

Training provider partnerships are encouraged to nurture consistency in the Group's staff training programmes. Training partners develop an in-depth knowledge of our business, culture and values which complements the skill sets they teach our employees. Produce World also have nationally recognised training programmes in place for all Management Trainees.

In addition, the Group regularly make use of Cranfield University's and the London Business School's lecture programmes to refresh the skill sets of directors and senior management. External mentoring programmes are also available for our senior management using Zinnia Consulting. In addition, a significant number of senior and middle management employees are trained in mentoring skills and in turn mentor up to two employees each. This two way process assists the development of both mentor and mentee.

We have a Group Development Manager in place to encourage employees' development and promote a proactive training programme across the Group. Produce World have invested in a Learning Resource Library for employees to use for their own self-development which includes videos, DVDs, CD ROMs and a host of relevant books. Interested employees are encouraged to become trainers and can use either their own material or internally developed training courses available across a full range of managerial skill topics, including "lunch 'n' learn" refreshers.
